The new destination at Ibis World Trade Centre will bring Mahjong, board games, coffee and social experiences together under one roof.
Dubai, October 19, 2026: The city is set to welcome One Forty Fourz, a premium Mahjong and Boardgame café opening on 22nd October 2026 at Ibis World Trade Centre. The venue aims to create a dedicated space for Mahjong enthusiasts, newcomers and social groups to connect through the centuries-old tile game.
Positioned as Dubai’s first premium destination dedicated to Mahjong and board games, One Forty Fourz seeks to take the game beyond occasional gatherings and into a contemporary café setting. Its offering combines a Mahjong lounge, coffee and dining experiences, an outdoor lounge and private events.
More than a game
Mahjong, which originated in China, has evolved into a global social phenomenon, bringing together strategy, skill, observation and friendly competition. While the game has traditionally been associated with family gatherings and established player communities, it is increasingly finding new audiences through dedicated clubs, events and hospitality concepts.
One Forty Fourz aims to build on this momentum by creating an environment where experienced players can enjoy regular games and beginners can discover Mahjong in a welcoming setting. The venue also plans to accommodate private gatherings and hosted gaming experiences.
According to its official website, the concept centres on bringing people together around the table, combining Mahjong with coffee, conversation and a relaxed social atmosphere.
A new space for Dubai’s Mahjong community
The opening reflects a broader opportunity to develop Mahjong-led social experiences in cities where interest in the game is growing. By combining hospitality with gameplay, One Forty Fourz joins an emerging category of destinations that place interactive, screen-free leisure at the heart of the customer experience.
Located at Ibis World Trade Centre, Dubai, the café is scheduled to operate from 10 am to 10 pm, Sunday through Thursday, and from 10 am to midnight on Fridays and Saturdays.
With its dedicated Mahjong lounge, outdoor seating and private-event offering, One Forty Fourz is positioning itself as a meeting point for Dubai’s growing community of players and those curious to learn the game.
